Ghelamco PL joins Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat

Ghelamco Poland has joined The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), a prestigious international organization of professionals engaged in designing, building and operating skyscrapers.

Ghelamco Poland has become an official member of The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat and the first Polish representative of this prestigious international organization. Members of CTBUH include architects, urban planners, developers, research institutions and companies engaged in constructing high-rise buildings from all over the world.

“It is with good reason that Ghelamco Poland joins the professionals from The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. In terms of delivered, pending and planned investments, we are currently one of European leaders in constructing high-rise buildings. In Warsaw, we built Warsaw Spire, the tallest office building in the country, designed with sustainable construction in mind, and now we are implementing The Warsaw HUB, an amazing complex of three towers. And it’s not our last word, as we are planning other spectacular skyscrapers to be delivered in line with top global standards,” says Jeroen van der Toolen, Managing Director, Ghelamco CEE.

“We are very pleased that an experienced developer such as Ghelamco Poland has joined our organisation, which brings together the top professionals in the tall building industry from around the world. We are confident that we will all benefit from this cooperation, and by exchanging ideas and experiences we will enable even more sustainable and technologically advanced projects, in Poland and globally” says Antony Wood, Executive Director of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

Established in 1969 in the USA, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat is regarded as the leading source of information for professionals engaged in designing, building and operating skyscrapers. The Council is now based in Chicago, the birthplace of skyscrapers, and has an office in Shanghai, China, and a research office in Venice, Italy. CTBUH supports the exchange of latest knowledge on tall buildings and sustainable development of cities all over the world through publications, research, conferences, events, task forces, web resources and an extensive global network of representatives. The organization also developed international standards of measuring tall buildings and is regarded as an arbiter for awarding the title of “the world’s tallest building”. CTBUH in Poland is represented by professor Ryszard Kowalczyk, a designer, scientist and long-term member of the organization (since 1969), in which he has served many prominent positions, among others Vice-Chairman for Europe.
