Where past and future coexist
CEDET has been nominated as a finalist for the MIPIM Awards 2019 in the category ‘Best Refurbished Building.’
The CEDET building in Warsaw which was developed by IMMOBEL Group Poland qualified for the finalists of the prestigious MIPIM Awards 2019 in the category ‘Best Refurbished Building.’ CEDET’s redevelopment and extension design is the work of a consortium of architectural studios: AMC Andrzej Chołdzyński – RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky. The construction was completed in May 2018.
“This mixed-use 23,000 sqm development in the very heart of Warsaw’s centre is an innovative project in many aspects,” said Jacek Wachowicz, CEO of Immobel Poland. “The redevelopment brought the building its historic 1950’s shape and looks while delivering a state of the art modern office and retail premises. Throughout 2018, the building turned the corner from a problematic construction and a sore in the eye of the public to a return of a historic and iconic building to Warsaw. In 2018, CEDET was not only filled full with tenants but it also delivered the first Korean investment into the Polish office market and the first sub 5% cap rate office investment deal of that scale in Poland. Seeing the dynamic growth of the co-working business, Immobel convinced WeWork to come to Poland and open its first location in CEDET.” Key tenants also include the polish development fund PFR Group and the well-known toy retailer Smyk, who is returning to its original location.
IMMOBEL Group has already restored major emblematic buildings in Brussels, amongst which CHAMBON: a flagship project that has won a MIPIM Award in 2017. During this year’s MIPIM, all attendees will have the opportunity to vote for this project at Awards Gallery, Palais des Festivals from 9.00 a.m. on Tuesday 12 March to noon on Thursday 14 March.
