IKEA to open in Blue City

IKEA will be located in the Blue City shopping centre in Warsaw.
In the second half of 2018, IKEA will open a new store in the Blue City shopping centre. The third location in Warsaw will differ from the standard IKEA store.

A new, smaller format in the city centre will be equipped with innovative product presentation solutions that make it easier for customers to shop. In response to current trends and consumer needs, IKEA wants to provide Varsovians with greater access to its offer.

After opening traditional stores in the suburbs,  launching sales over the phone and the Internet, creating innovative meeting places with customers (such as the IKEA Centrum dla Firm) or the network of Pick up Points, it’s time for a premiere IKEA sales format in the city centre to meet the needs and expectations of consumers.

“Our third location in Warsaw is one of the first IKEA stores in the world so close to the city centre,” said Anna Pawlak-Kuliga, president of IKEA Retail in Poland. “One of the basic assumptions of the strategy on the Polish market is to increase the availability of IKEA products and services, so that all Poles can benefit from inspiring home furnishing and beautifully, comfortably live. We are developing multichannel sales, and now we will be even closer to Varsovians.”

IKEA in Blue City will be located on two floors of the shopping center (level 0 and +1) and will have an area of approximately 4,800 sqm. Despite the limited space, customers will be able to get to know the full range of IKEA products and solutions by using innovative technological tools. Selected home furnishing accessories will be available on-site, while the remaining products from the range will be accessible for online order – individually or with the help of IKEA co-workers.
