Construction of Holiday Inn Express in Rzeszów starts

The hotel will be located in the immediate vicinity of the airport.
The Chopin Airport Development company handed over the construction site to the General Contractor – ERBUD to build the Holiday Inn Express hotel project. The facility will be constructed in the immediate vicinity of the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport and will be completed in the second half of 2019.

The 120-room facility will be one of the most modern hotels of its class in Europe. It will serve not only passengers of the airport, but also to the clients of the nearby G2A Arena and numerous companies located in the vicinity of the Podrzeszów airport.

“I am delighted that the hotel of the latest generation will be built in a special place for my region. In the very heart of the Aviation Valley, surrounded by the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, the G2A Arena Exhibition and Tycoon Center, which we facilitate the functioning of, expanding the necessary infrastructure,” says Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. “A new airport road, future rail transport – will be another impulse for new investments. An important element of this development is the hotel base of the highest standard, the construction of which is just beginning. Such a modern facility complements the innovative landscape of this place and the entire Podkarpackie region.”

“Chopin Airport Development (CAD) is an experienced operator and investor of airport hotels. The Holiday Inn Express hotel next to the Rzeszów airport will be another object in the CAD portfolio, and the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) another network next to Marriott International, Hilton and Best Western, with which we cooperate,” says Gheorghe Marian Cristescu, President of the Management Board of Chopin Airport Development.  “The potential that we see in the region, resulting both from the development of the Rzeszów airport, as well as the proximity of the economic zone and the congress center, gives us grounds to believe that our new investment will be very successful. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who was present at the signing of the franchise agreement on the Holiday Inn Express at the last Congress 590 in Rzeszów, also talked about this. The Prime Minister did not hide the satisfaction that such an object will be built in the Podkarpacie region, which in turn will contribute to support the development of Eastern Poland.”

“The location of the hotel in the immediate vicinity of the airport is of great importance for its further development. From year to year we serve more and more passengers in Jasionka and we open new international connections, and more aircrafts are serviced in our hangars. This means there is a need to provide comfortable accommodation not only for travelers, but also for crews or technical service employees. I believe that the Holiday Inn Express brand will gain their recognition quickly,” says Michał Tabisz, President of the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport Management Board.

A contract for the lease of land in 2017 for a hotel investment with Rzeszów Jasionka Airport, followed by an agreement with IHG under the Holiday Inn Express brand and a refined and approved architectural design with the FBT Architekci studio, obtaining a valid building permit and a contract with the General Contractor ERBUD will undoubtedly benefit the development of Rzeszów and the entire region,” says Adam Pilczuk, Director of Strategy and Development at Chopin Airport Development.“The commencement of construction and handing over the square to the General Contractor shows that the hotel investment process has been started. All our activities are in line with the schedule so that we can receive the first guests in the second half of next year.”
